Catholic Charities of Louisville honored its volunteers at a Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on Oct. 16. LuAnn Hayes, a longtime volunteer who provides childcare, was named Volunteer of the Year. The late Helen Kendall, who died earlier this year, also served in the childcare room. Hayes brings music and movement to childcare while parents attend meetings and classes. Catholic Charities has had more than 600 volunteers in 2026, including corporate and school groups.
