Report: Jockey Ricardo Santana Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges In Louisville
Jockey Ricardo Santana, who was scheduled to ride three Breeders' Cup mounts, has been arrested on charges of domestic abuse. Ricardo Santana Jr., a jockey set to ride in the Breeders' Cup races in Louisville, has been arrested on charges of domestic violence. The charges stem from an argument over Santana's consumption of alcohol and strangulation. The Jefferson County Inmate Alerts system initially issued an alert with a photo of Santana and the charges, but it later emerged that this was not a new arrest and Santana no longer appears on their website alert list of arrested people. Despite this, Ron Moquett, the trainer of Hymn, announced that he had already taken him off that mount and was ready to support Santana in seeking help or counseling. The incident occurred during a domestic violence run in the Middletown area where a woman claimed Santana was on their front porch drinking.
