UK and Signature HealthCARE will develop a 105-bed skilled nursing facility at Hamburg East to help patients transition from hospital care. The University of Kentucky and Signature HealthCARE are partnering to develop and operate a 105-bed skilled nursing facility at UK’s Hamburg East campus. The project is designed to help patients transition from hospital to the next stage of recovery. The UK Board of Trustees approved the joint venture on Oct. 23. The facility will expand access to skilled nursing services while improving patient flow, care coordination and outcomes. Under the agreement, Beyond Blue Corp., a wholly owned UK affiliate, will hold a 60% ownership stake in the facility, while Signature HealthCare affiliate, Commonwealth Regional Skilled Nursing Management LLC, will manage day-to-day operations. The joint venture is also expected to support workforce development and educational opportunities as UK continues to build out its Hamburg East Campus.
