So, Oklahoma came in at No. 6 in the AP Top 25 Poll, meaning the Sooners remained in the same spot as last week, according to the AP poll released Sunday afternoon. The Sooners have been ranked since the start of the season, but this is the first time their climb has stalled. Oklahoma is coming off a close 31-29 win over Big 12 newcomer UCF.

Oklahoma entered the season at No. 20, then No. 18 after the 73-0 blowout win over Arkansas State, then fell a spot to No. 19 after the Sooners’ 28-11 tough win against SMU, then No. 16 after a dominant 66-17 win over Tulsa, then No. 14 after a 20-6 win over Cincinnati, where the Sooners didn’t give up a touchdown. Then at No. 12 after a 50-20 win over Iowa State where the Sooners completely shut out the Cyclones in the second half. Then, No. 5 after a thrilling 34-30 win over No. 3 Texas in the Red River Rivalry. Then after a critical bye week, and the 31-29 win over UCF, Oklahoma is ranked No. 6 by the AP voters.

So, all things considered, the Sooners still remain in a good position in the eyes of the voters. But now that all the votes are locked in for the week, I thought it’d be interesting to see where the college football voters, each individually, ranked Oklahoma. For the seventh week in a row, all voters had Oklahoma ranked in the top 25.

Last week, it was Brett McMurphy of the Action Network (Tampa, FL) and Chris Murray of the Nevada Sports Net (Reno, NV) that had the Sooners ranked the highest at No. 2 in the country. But that has changed this time around. Chris Murray is the highest, with the Sooners ranked at No. 4. As for the lowest, just like last week, it’s Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News (San Jose, CA). He has the Sooners at No. 9. This is slightly lower than he had them last week, where he had the Sooners at No. 8.

Among the votes, OU came in at No. 6, and that’s where most voters had them ranked. Forty-one of the voters each ranked Oklahoma at 6. The following ranked with the most voters was at No. 5, where 14 voters had OU ranked.

All in all, it’s the ninth straight week in the poll for the Sooners, who were ranked for five consecutive weeks to open Brent Venables’ inaugural season before falling out of the rankings during a 6-7 campaign in 2022. This season, Oklahoma is just one of two teams from the Big 12 ranked in this week's AP poll. After Texas snuck by Houston, the Longhorns moved up again from No. 8 to No. 7 in the AP Poll.
